2006 Season - Week 5

Trading Day 1

And so Trading Day 1 has arrived. Time to make up for those draft day errors of judgement. We will trade at 4:30pm this Sunday (Oct 15th). If you want to change players but can’t attend let me know whether you will email your trade plans through or whether you will be available at the other end of the phone. Cheryl will be doing food so please let me know if you are attending by Saturday morning so she can do the shopping. To assist with your plans attached are the original player prices again together with the list of new players available. Trading Order Wayne will cut his players first followed by Phil, Dave G, AP, Daz, David S, Chief, Mark, Ron, Cheryl, George/Andy H, Aaron/Marcus, Johnny, and finally John. The order between George & Andy H, and Aaron & Marcus will be decided by the toss of a coin. After all players have been dropped we will go into a draft mode and Wayne will select one player followed by Phil etc etc until all rosters are full again. Remember if you cut a Franchise Player you still have to pay him until his Franchise Contract is over. Hall of Shame This week AP makes an appearance in the unwanted Hall of Shame as his team failed to score a single point. QB Michael Vick was on a bye week, kicker Adam Vinatieri missed his 3rd week with an injury and Receiver Matt Jones was also out injured. His other receivers, Joe Horn & Heath Miller had just 6 catches combined, while Joe Gibbs Redskins fell to the Giants. Despite 100 yard games from his RB’s Thomas Jones (122 total yards) and Frank Gore (172 total yards) neither found the endzone. Andy becomes the first owner since Wayne in week 2 of last year to enter the Hall. Other owners also shamed include Phil and Mark in 2003, Ron in 2002, Chief in 1999, Marcus in 1998 and Paul in 1997. The first owner to enter the Hall of Shame was John in 1996 (he also was disgraced 3 times in 2001) but things have picked up for John recently… VfM If you want value for money just look at the top of the Premiership. The Weymouth Bay Bargaineers are certainly that. John’s $4million bargains currently have a 16 point lead in the hunt for Papas Fritas trophy. With a total of 146 points John is averaging 36.5 points per million dollars spent. To show how impressive that is, the second best is David Stamp at 13.8!! Outside of John the other 15 owners average 11.5 points per million dollars spent. BUMS on Seats. Remember we will be at BUMS HQ from 4:30pm on Sunday to trade followed by Philadelphia Eagles @ New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs @ Pittsburgh Steelers.
